Key Responsibilities:

 

–        Project Cost Estimation: Develop and manage detailed project cost estimates and budgets. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring costs remain within budget.

–        Responsible for and drive periodic project cost reporting to the management providing on-time, reliable and quality analysis, and recommendations to enable the Project team to steer project in the right direction.

–        Validate, challenge, analyze and recommend action on all relevant agreed Project KPIs through the monthly project controls reporting. i.e. Earned Value Management, Value of Work Done, Schedule Performance Index, Cost Performance Index, Cash out curve, trending etc

–        Prepare accurate and timely project cost reports, including cost estimates, cost forecasts, cost performance analyses for management.

–        Collaborate with Contractor(s) EPCM/PMC to collect project cost data periodically and verify that the Forecast to complete remains in accordance with the established plans and schedules. Highlight and communicate variance to stakeholders on timely basis and ensure corrections / updates are performed with EPCM. Prepare periodic summary on EPCM performance for the management. 

–        Collaborate with different internal stakeholders to understand, update, and build a reliable forecast on project costs. 

–        Analyze project budgets, actuals, forecast to complete, estimate at completion, and variances, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings or cost overruns. 

–        Collaborate with stakeholders to periodically review, maintain, and update cost breakdown structure, cost codes and project reporting formats / templates to enhance accuracy and efficiency. 

–        Monitor project progress, track actual costs, and compare against budgeted costs, identifying any deviations and recommending corrective actions to project stakeholders.

–        Conduct regular cost control meetings with project teams, providing guidance on cost management, assisting in budget planning, and addressing any cost-related concerns.

–        Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations and standards.

Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the program Controls & Governance team as a Project Cost Estimator. As a Project Cost Estimator you will act as a business partner to the Project team and play a crucial role in estimating, managing and controlling project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets, providing on-time, reliable and quality analysis. You will bring exceptional analytical skills, a strong understanding of project management principles, and a keen eye for detail to drive the financial success of our projects. 

 

Qualifications:

–        +5-10 year Project Cost Estimator experience in multi-billion complex project is a must.

 

General Requirements: 

–        Experience with EPCM managed projects

–        Strong knowledge of project management principles, cost control methodologies, and financial analysis techniques. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret complex financial data.

–        Being about to see the big picture and a hands-on mentality to drill deep when needed

–        Proficiency in ERP / IT tools (SAP, BW, Power BI), including advanced MS Excel skills. 

–        Detail-oriented mindset, with ability to deliver with accuracy, on-time and reliability.

–        Ability to deliver on deadlines, to handle multiple tasks (exceptional organizational and prioritization skills) and ability to handle pressure

–        Effective communicator, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

–        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.

–        Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.

–        Proactive and self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

–        Project language is English, knowledge of the Dutch language is an plus

–        Regular travels to Spain (Madrid, Bilbao). 25%% travelling depending on the phase of project

–        Being available during the duration of the Project 3-4years

–        Preferred starting date: as soon as possible

–        Main working place is in Ghent, Belgium.
